扭轉乾坤 turn the tipping point 業績太差，經理痛斥業務員工作不力：「不要再講任何藉口。如果不能勝任，有很多人願意取代你們來提升業績。」然後辦了銷售競賽：第一名獎賞跑車一輛，第二名吃牛排的刀叉各一把，最差的開除。 經理自身業績彪炳，講話自吹自擂（blows his own horn），屬下心有餘而力不足（can't make bricks without straw），而業績目標艱辛，達成不易（the road is long and hard），這時情況繼續惡化，組織就會瓦解。這是電影「大亨遊戲」的情節，但其實天天在各行各業的營業單位上演。 例："Louis did great work on the project, and he is one to blow his own horn."「本案小劉立了大功，因而囂張起來的人也是他。」 "We need a seasoned manager to lead us out of the quagmire. You can't make bricks without straw."「我們束手無策，需要有經驗的經理帶出困境。」 "The road is long and hard, but a journey begins and ends with but one step."「目標艱辛，天道酬勤。」 情況不能再壞，任何努力顯然都無法維持局面之際，組織瞬間逆轉，「一根稻草壓垮一隻駱駝」（the straw that broke the camel's back或 last straw）而崩解。 這也是「破窗理論」的說法──如果沒有人領導群倫（starting ahead of the field）、扭轉乾坤（turn the tipping point），那麼，一塊故意被打破的窗戶玻璃，如果不及時修理，可能導致整棟建築物，甚至整個社區都破落的開端。 例："That's the final straw; it's a petty demand but I'm already under too much work. I quit!"「事情多到辦不完，再加這一樁，誰受得了啊，不幹總可以吧！」 "The new manager helps us to improve our performance and we are now starting ahead of the field."「新經理帶領我們改善績效，讓我們保持領先。」 "He does the things more of us need to do, share the ideas, learn from each other - and, together, turn the tipping point towards change."「他身先士卒，和大家溝通觀念，一起成長，啟動了改變風潮，向上提升。」 「引爆點」（the tipping point）啟動流行風潮，周遭親友揪團網購，是因為有關鍵人物正在引領風潮，這也是某產品（蛋塔）、某觀念（喝紅酒）瞬間當紅的開始。 引爆點正是賽局重要的觀念：許多困境（例如銀行擠兌）看似無解（a bottomless pit），其實是當事人缺乏溝通管道，所以明明有更好的結果，卻束手無策坐以待斃（face the music）。 這時有人發揮領導統御才能，局勢或許就可以扭轉朝向雙贏；而以身作則，加強溝通協調，齊一步伐，也正是孫子：「聚三軍之眾，投之于險，此謂將軍之事也」的兵法精隨。 例："The selling of pastel de nata has reached a tipping point.
